FAWM 2009 - 9 new songs
So this was my 4th year participating in February Album Writing Month (FAWM). The idea is to write and record 14 songs duing February–basically one song every other day. This year I only got 9 songs but I think there are some really great ones that you may hear Westerly playing in the future.
Here are links to demos and lyrics from the songs I did this year: Vegas Baby - Wrote this one about my mom http://joshschramm.com/fawm2009/Vegas%20Baby.mp3 Lyrics : http://fawm.org/songs/2268/ Precious Thing - R&B song. http://joshschramm.com/fawm2009/Precious%20Thing.mp3 Lyrics: http://fawm.org/songs/2274/ Countrycide - Hillbilly dance Mix. http://www.joshschramm.com/fawm2009/Countrycide.mp3 FAWM Page: http://fawm.org/songs/2547/ The Promise - Valentine's Day Present http://joshschramm.com/fawm2009/The%20Promise.mp3 Lyrics: http://fawm.org/songs/2756/ She's in Chicago (And I'm in the Rain) - Definite Westerly song I think. http://joshschramm.com/fawm2009/Chicago.mp3 Lyrics: http://fawm.org/songs/3151/ Ditch My Gun - Another definite Westerly Song. http://joshschramm.com/fawm2009/Ditch%20My%20Gun.mp3 Lyrics: http://fawm.org/songs/3954/ A Losing Fight - Totally different style from any of my other stuff. http://www.joshschramm.com/fawm2009/A%20Losing%20Fight.mp3 Lyrics: http://fawm.org/songs/4381/ I Remember - Murder Ballad, actually turned out kinda cool. http://www.joshschramm.com/fawm2009/I%20Remember.mp3 Lyrics: http://fawm.org/songs/4382/ Anyhow - Ditty, with a weird keyboard sound. http://www.joshschramm.com/fawm2009/Anyhow.mp3 Lyrics: http://fawm.org/songs/4383/ Picture in Whidbey Paper
So we played the Choochokam Festival in Langley on Whidbey Island last weekend. It was a lot of fun and we were really well recieved. I even got my picture on the front page of the paper wearing my rock n roll shades (Kory's actually). See the picture here.
Entry Numero Uno
Hello all. I don't really have much of a topic for my inaugural blog post other than to welcome you to our new site. I'll be posting show diaries, CD reviews, existential ponderings, and anything else that comes to mind.
Welcome! -josh |
